Present Duties

The council oversees the Oregon State Fair and Exposition Center. Their mission is to showcase Oregon products and people; educate and communicate to Oregonians about key industries with emphasis on agriculture, forestry, technology and manufacturing; and to create an event that celebrates all of Oregon and Oregonians in an atmosphere of responsible community involvement and citizenship. The exposition center hosts the annual state fair at the end of August through Labor Day and provides a venue for meetings, concerts, trade shows and other events the rest of the year from its location in Salem.​
