The Oregon State Board of Nursing (OSBN) regulates nursing practice and education. It oversees the licensure, certification and compliance of the approximately 100,000 registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants and advanced practice nurses in Oregon.

The nine OSBN board members are appointed by the governor and include a mix of public members and nursing professionals. They represent a variety of nursing practice settings and geographic locations and serve three-year terms. The OSBN meets monthly and may hold special meetings if necessary. The OSBN employs a staff of about 50 who provide customer service and assist the board in carrying out its mission.
