Present Duties
The Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC), is responsible for enforcement of government ethics laws prohibiting public officials from using their office for financial gain and requiring public disclosure of economic conflict of interest. The OGEC also enforces state laws that require lobbyists, and the entities they represent, to register and report their quarterly lobbying expenditures. OGEC also has jurisdiction over the executive session provisions of the public meetings law.
The OGEC is a nine-member citizen commission. It is served by nine staff members who focus on regulation and prevention through education.
