​Oregon’s public universities serve as educational, scholarly and research centers preparing students to succeed in the workforce and serve the needs of Oregon students and communities. Providing education at the baccalaureate level and beyond, the seven Oregon public universities include Eastern Oregon University (EOU), La Grande; Oregon Institute of Technology (OIT), Klamath Falls and Wilsonville; Oregon State University (OSU), Corvallis and Bend; Portland State University (PSU), Portland; Southern Oregon University (SOU), Ashland; University of Oregon (UO), Eugene; and Western Oregon University (WOU), Monmouth.

In 2020–2021, the seven public universities collectively awarded degrees and certificates across the state to 23,655 individuals. 17,313 people were awarded bachelor’s degrees and 5,207 were awarded advanced degrees and graduate certificates. The universities offer bachelor degrees in hundreds of majors and minors, certificate programs, professional programs, graduate programs, as well as research, scholarship, innovation and public service that directly serve Oregon’s communities and industries and the needs of national and international constituents.​
