Parking, Hours and Exterior Views

​​​Parking

Metered parking is available in the parking lot on the Summer Street side of the building. The lot includes four 10 hour spaces, eight 4 hour spaces and two 30 minute spaces. One hour of meter time is $1.50. Two unmetered disabled parking spaces are also provided. Additional metered parking is available on Summer Street. The Archives cannot provide change for parking meters. Free one hour parking is available on D Street and in the neighborhood to the north of the building.

Hours

The reference room is open by appointment. To schedule an an in-person appointment contact us at 503-373-0701 (option 1) or Reference.Archives@sos.oregon.gov​​. Appointments are available Monday – Friday, 8:15 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (except state gov​ernment holidays​​).

Planners designed the exterior of the Archives Building to visually anchor the north end of the Capitol Mall just as the State Capitol anchors the south end of the mall. See the architectural features of the building and views of the grounds surrounding the building in this slideshow:
