These include: capitol area plans, specific area plans, evaluations, studies, improvement requests, sitings, development plans, historic houses information, design solicitations. Drawings, maps, photos and illustrations are also contained within the series (see Separations List). Also of note is a file collecting correspondence between the CPC and capitol building architect Francis Keally.​

The minutes are arranged according to an approximate monthly schedule; indices or table of contents are present for some months. ​

This series consists of records accumulated by a CPC commissioner during tenure from Jan 1949 to Oct 1969. These consist of correspondence, memos, reports, budget data, notes from minutes of Commission meetings and maps. ​

This series consists of a collection of newspaper articles collected by the Commission that feature its activities or those related to it. The majority of the files are grouped topically by subjects such as parking, Agriculture Building, or property acquisition; others are identified by a date range.

This model from a 1958 master plan shows a very different view of the north Capitol Mall than what came to pass.
